How the it works

The Ministry of Economic Development, in order to enhance intellectual property titles, in particular patents, intends to favor the development of a patent policy of micro, small and medium-sized enterprisesby granting and disbursing of incentives for the filing of patents in Italy, at a European and international level (PCT).

Beneficiaries

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, including newly established ones, with registered and operational headquarters in Italy, which are in one of the following conditions:

• are owners or licensees of a patent issued after 01/01/2013;
• are holders of a patent application filed after 01/01/2013 and for which there is:
  • in the case of national filing, the search report with a "non-negative" result;
  • in the case of filing for a European patent, the request for substantial examination to the EPO;
  • in the case of filing of an international patent application (PCT), the international preliminary examination fee4 or the filing report necessary for the nationalization of patents.

Amount of the contribution

The granting of a subsidy on capital account within the de minimis of the maximum value of € 140,000 is envisaged.
